Let’s face it, blusher is the most neglected make-up product there is. Why is this? The fact that you either look like a clown (which in this day and age really isn’t good news) or it just doesn’t seem to transfer right on to your skin might have something to do with this issue, or maybe it’s something your grandma wears. Blusher is a little neglected – but I want to bring the love back and educate you all!

So first things first, which blush colour is for you?

I’ve swatched all of my blushes for your reference below with usage varying slightly in seasonality due to my changes in complexion.

Next thing, major key to winning with blush, where you apply it. A big benefit is knowing your face shape, then you can refer to the chart below. Also, hold your blush brush lightly. If you are heavy handed with blush too much pigment can transfer too quickly and the next thing you know, you look like grandma.

Personally, i’ve never seen putting blush on the very apples of your cheeks as a great move. However, i’ve found if you lightly brush it over and then sculpt above and on top of your contour it looks great! Another tip with blush is to blend, if you do go in a little heavy just blend it out – it’s always fixable!!

Finally, all I would say is to try it! Blush really is for everybody, it’s just finding the colours that suit you and the placement that compliments your features!

If this has inspired you to give blush a second chance let me know!

Definitely going to try it after reading this, usually I don’t bother as I always think I have a red face – and blush would make it redder
