Embrace the S/S trend of pretty pleats from the runways of fashion weeks galore. From the boldly striped Gucci skirts to the metallic Emilio Pucci layers , pleats have re-surfaced this season giving us all vintage inspo.

This super chic trend has dominated the catwalks but how do you style it for a ready to wear look?

I created a super classic look with a pop of colour thats affordable and totally on trend!

I wore this look to work on Friday and styled it up afterwards with some gorgeous red heels for dinner and drinks! The key to this look I think is to keep it simple. The skirt itself is subtly confident and should be combined with a minimalist top otherwise there’s just a bit too much going on. The pop of colour at the two extremities (feet and lips) brings the look together and draws attention to your face and elongates your legs.

Here are the outfit details:

Cami – Topshop (although I can’t seem top find it on the website so i’ve added an almost identical alternative)

Matalan £6.00

Skirt – £10.00 Primark (such a style steal I know!)

Bag- Betsey Johnson

Thanks all! Hopefully I’ll regularly continue this blog post thread on How to’s

Absolutely adore the colour of the skirt, it’s my fav at the moment and I love the idea of wearing the same colour on your lips as your shoes, you definitely rocked this look in my opinion!
