Cities I’m yet to meet, but have fallen for already♡ Pt. 3
AMSTERDAM♡
A city well known for its space cakes and relaxed view on drugs, Amsterdam has more recently attracted many for that reason. It is perhaps less well known for all of the rich Dutch culture that makes the city so different from others. Being a very flat city, the key mode of transportation in Amsterdam is bicycle -no hills means no achey legs, yay. Whilst in the city i’d definitely rent a bike, as, due to the extensive waterway system, roads are narrow and not as well connected – you’ll catch far more on bike or on foot! The Grachtengordel consists of three main canals that hug the the city, eventually connecting to the IJ bay. There is a mass web of over 100km of waterways that form 90 islands and require more than 1500 bridges – so plenty of opportunity for that typical tourist Amsterdam bridge photo. Top of my to visit list is Anne Frank’s House, i’ve read her diary and would love to visit the house behind the diary, being able to connect and feel the author’s environment, I expect will be quite emotional. If art is your thing then the Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum are a must visit. Amsterdam, I can’t wait to meet you and your bright and bubbly culture.

♡Love,Lilli

Oh I’ve heard so many nice things about Amsterdam but never been there, even though I live so close (Copenhagen). Have a great trip!

I really want to go to Amsterdam too! Mainly for the same reasons as you, especially to see Anne Frank’s house!

I’ve been twice and it’s awesome and such a pretty city. Most recently I went to Rotterdam too and got the short train to Amsterdam.
